Welcome Reverend Diana Casteel!

The League is delighted to welcome Reverend Diana Casteel to its Board of Directors.  A masters graduate of  SMU-Perkins School of Theology, Reverend Casteel is an Ordained Elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and currently serves as Presiding Elder of the Greenville-Texarkana District in the East Texas Region.

A recognized pulpit trailblazer, Reverend Casteel was the first female pastor at St. Luke C.M.E. Church in Jefferson, Texas and St. Mark C.M.E. church in Longview, Texas, working as senior pastor at the latter for over thirteen years.  In another leadership first, she chaired the Joint Board of Finance for the C.M.E. East Texas Region from 2010-2014; the first woman to do so.

"Diana has a passion for helping others and a strong track record in financial management and group facilitation," said League Administrator Robert McAfee. "We're excited that she is bringing her enthusiasm, leadership skills, and wealth of experience to the League Board at this critical time for climate justice advocacy.  I look forward to working with her."

In addition to her board and Presiding Elder commitments, Reverend Casteel is pursuing a doctorate at Perkins School of Theology.
